Lander United Methodist Church began serving a free, weekly, community meal on Friday, September 22, 2017. Volunteers will shop for, cook, serve, visit with guests, and clean-up. Since its inception in October of 2016, the Good Sam Emergency food pantry has handed out over 4,500 bags of groceries. The pantry is supplied through food donations made by church and community members, financial donations, and through a very generous partnership with Michelle Motherway and Mr. D’s.
The pantry is not meant to be a grocery store. Rather, it is an emergency food pantry for when times are tough and income didn't stretch far enough to cover groceries for the month.
